Healing Soils Foundation Supports Land Access with Grants to Four Inspiring Farms
At Healing Soils Foundation, we know that equitable access to land is essential for fostering a thriving, diverse, and regenerative agricultural future. That’s why we are proud to announce our recent Land Access Grants, awarded to Salvatierra Farm, Locavore Farm, Black Winds, and Little Farm by the Sea. These grants are tailored to support socially disadvantaged farmers, empowering them to overcome barriers to land access and build vibrant, sustainable farming operations.
Each of these farms exemplifies resilience, innovation, and dedication to their communities:
Salvatierra Farms brings an indigenous understanding of regenerative agriculture, creating opportunities for immigrant farmers in regenerative poultry production.
Locavore Farm emphasizes regenerative practices and community-focused dining experiences, connecting local food systems with environmental stewardship.
Black Wind Farm is reclaiming land for food sovereignty, focusing on creating opportunities for Black farmers and promoting agroecology.
Little Farm by the Sea blends sustainable farming with coastal conservation, cultivating produce while protecting natural habitats.
These grants are part of our commitment to making land access easier for socially disadvantaged farms. For many farmers, financial barriers make accessing and securing land a significant challenge. Our grants aim to bridge this gap by offering critical funding to enable land purchases, infrastructure improvements, and the implementation of regenerative practices.
Land access is not just about ownership—it’s about fostering the next generation of stewards for our soil, water, and food systems. By prioritizing support for underrepresented farmers, we’re helping to diversify the agricultural landscape, restore degraded ecosystems, and build a more inclusive food system.
We are inspired by the work these farms are doing and proud to support their journeys.
